In Lithuania, where I’m based, publicly listed SEO prices range from about 200 to 3,000 € per month. The gap is that wide because very different work hides behind the same name. At one agency it means a few hours spent on reports. At another it is a full strategy with content, technical fixes, and articles placed on news and niche sites. So the thing worth comparing is not the sum but what actually gets done for it.

What drives the price of SEO
What affects the price most

- Competition. A local tradesperson in a small town and an online store up against the big retail chains need very different amounts of work.
- Site size. A 20-page service site and a store with 5,000 products can differ in audit and maintenance scope by a factor of several dozen.
- Markets and languages. Every extra market means its own keyword research, content, and links.
- Starting condition. If the site has a lot of technical errors, the first months go into fixing them.
- Who implements. If your developer makes the changes, my share of the work is smaller. If I do everything myself, the price is higher, but so is the speed.

How to compare SEO proposals
What to ask before you sign
- What exactly will be done in the first month, and what by the end of month three?
- Who will actually work on your project, an experienced specialist or a beginner?
- Which sites will the articles be published on, and can you see them in advance?
- How will results be measured, and what report will you get?
- Can you end the contract without penalties?
Be careful with proposals that guarantee first place on Google, offer hundreds of links for a few dozen euros, or never explain what exactly they will do. Cheap link packages usually mean link farms, which do more harm than good in the long run.
